Canonical Interview Completed!

, , ,

Hooray for another item completed!

We had our canonical interview this morning at Christ the King Parish, along with 9 other soon-to-be-wed couples. We even knew one of the grooms and were happy to know that they were also getting married in December.

The interview was really short, just basic questions about the two of us and our families and why we wanted to get married. I think we rocked it. ๐Ÿ˜›

We also got our marriage banns and were able to give mine to our parish in Marikina. JC will give his to their parish in Quezon City tomorrow or Friday.

Next in our to-do list: Complete the church document requirements. JC already submitted his birth and baptismal certificates and we already gave our marriage certificate (from our civil wedding last year) as well. As for me, I’m having problems with my birth certificate as I still need to get some details from the Department of Foreign Affairs, given that I was born in Saudi Arabia. My baptismal certificate is OK, but my confirmation certificate still needs to be corrected as my name was spelled as Elvira. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ We will receive JC’s confirmation certificate by November 9. Finally, our CENOMARs were already requested, but I haven’t paid yet since I’m still getting the needed information from DFA. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I really hope to complete these items soon.

Detailing with Caterer – check!

, ,

One of my favorite parts in wedding preparations — food tasting!

Today, we finalized details with our caterer, Kar from K by Cunanan. Now I know why their past clients are raving about their services — we had such a great time! Kar was very accommodating and excited about our theme, so we were very comfortable discussing our ideas with her.

First, they served us with our choices from their menu. As expected, JC had better taste buds than mine (all my friends know that everything’s delicious for me :P). All his choices were consistent with Kar’s, so I guess we’re good with our final menu. ๐Ÿ™‚

Next, Kar prepared a mock table set-up for us. She was GREAT! She was able to incorporate our movie theme and got our color motif perfectly. I didn’t take any pictures because we want everything to be a surprise on our big day. ๐Ÿ˜€

Finally, we talked about all the little details for the floor layout — spaces for our photo booth, mobile bar, dance area, and so on. It made me think of all the other things that we have to do and they’re due in less than 2 months! We can do this!!!

Measurements for Entourage – Part 2!

, ,

Almost done with getting measurements for our entourage. Today, we completed measurements for our maid of honor (Dalin), 1 secondary sponsor (Janine), and 1 bridesmaid (Telle). Telle was the only one to make it on time, so I let her leave early since she had other plans with her boyfriend that day. ๐Ÿ™‚ Dalin, Janine, and I met at Starbucks, Katipunan for our coffee fix before heading to Ms. Sheryl’s atalier.

After that, we went to National Bookstore to shop for paper to use for our Save-the-Date, Will-You-Be, and planner stickers. We were also able to buy a 4-in-1 paper cutter, which includes 3 types of cutting styles and 1 for rounding corners. ๐Ÿ™‚

Since we were already in the Katipunan area, we went straight to UP for our much-craved isaw! I super missed eating the famous orange isaw and was surprised to see so many cars parked! Please please please expand to the Makati area!

Girlfriends I love + wedding preps + isaw/fishball galore = a very happy Saturday for me. Super thanks again to my dear friends for helping us — we would be so lost with everything if it weren’t for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

3rd Fitting Done!

, ,

Another fitting done. My gown now has bits of beading and details, so it’s getting more and more exciting! Kristel also cut off bits of excess cloth, so I can’t get bigger from now on. No rice dinner mode until the wedding. I can’t wait to see what my gown looks like on my next fitting in November. By then, it will only be around 3 weeks until the big day — panic alert!

Lining Fitting Done!

, ,

I had my 2nd fitting (lining) earlier today at Kristel Yulo’s studio. Thanks to my dear friend Janineย for waking up early and coming with me!

After my fitting, we went to the Purple Oven near the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart Church and talked about details of our DIY projects. As usual, it left me wanting to do a lot of DIY stuff, I just wish we would have the time to finish them all!

Florist Booked!

, ,

Hooray for 1 more supplier down! We booked our florist earlier today after meeting with the mother of my close friend Chix (

I already saw Tita Ludi’s (Blossoms and Frills) work during my previousย office-mate’sย wedding at the same church and reception as ours, so I’m really confident that she will create lovely flower arrangements for us as well. ๐Ÿ™‚ She even said that every time she does arrangements for Chix’s friends, she gets really excited herself and does her best, since we’re all like daughters to her. So sweet! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next in line: Band. We’re having difficulties with this, since a lot of the recommended ones are already booked! December is indeed an eventful month!

Booked: Groom/Entourage Attire, Lights & Sounds, OTD Coordinator, Emcee

4 more suppliers down! ๐Ÿ™‚

First, our groom/entourage attire. We already had a meeting with Ms. Sheryl of Sheah Designsย a month ago,ย when we inquired regarding her packages; now we finally confirmed! Next is to bring the cast of our wedding for their measurements and discussion of their designs.

After that, we went straight to Megamall for today’s Before I Do Bridal Fair.

Before I Do

Our bridal fair bracelets. ๐Ÿ™‚

Second supplier in our list, lights and sounds. I heard of Sensitivity from my fellow W@Wies and was really glad they had 1 more slot on our wedding date! We booked them right away.

Third, OTD. After inquiring with 3 suppliers, we finally went with the last one, which was Events on Demand. Ms. Jessie was really friendly and assured us that we can discuss our plans right after we complete our list of suppliers. She also lives just near our house in Marikina, so it will be easier for us to meet up! Our package also includes an emcee, though as much as we wanted her to host, she’s already booked on our wedding day. But she promised to find someone who can cover our event. So that’s the fourth supplier checked as well!

Thank God for a very productive day. ๐Ÿ™‚

Muslin Fitting Done!

, ,

Earlier today, I had my muslin fitting with my gown designer, Kristel Yulo. There’s not much I can see yet, only that I might have scoliosis! When Kristel and her assistant had the muslin pattern on me, it was a bit crooked, so she asked if I had scoliosis. I’m thinking it can probably be due to my past pregnancy with Sam; babies absorb a lot of their mother’s calcium during their stay in the womb. So that’s why Sam has such strong bones! ๐Ÿ˜›
